Frequently asked questions about viscotec.dot

What should I know about Amazon Registry and .PAY before registering for a retail brand?

Amazon Registry Services operates the .PAY top-level domain. A retail brand can search, pre-order or start a trademark-priority route through domain.pay: https://domain.pay/. domain.pay is the customer-facing place to act, while registry rules still control availability and eligibility.

Does claiming viscotec.dot with an SMD stop others from using my brand elsewhere?

Claiming viscotec.dot with an SMD secures that specific .PAY name for your viscotec.dot mark, but it does not by itself police your brand on other domains or platforms. TMCH priority is name-specific. Use it to lock down viscotec.dot, then consider other names separately. Start with viscotec.dot at https://domain.pay/register.

Could a .PAY domain be suspended for not being used for payments for point-of-sale payments?

Yes. The LRP policy says .PAY LRP names must be used in connection with payment-related services, and failure to demonstrate such use may lead to suspension or cancellation. Check the current path at domain.pay: https://domain.pay/register.

Can I run viscotec.dot entirely on a static host like GitHub Pages?

Yes. Point viscotec.dot at the static host using their required A/CNAME records, add viscotec.dot as the custom domain in the host's settings, and enable their automatic HTTPS. Static hosting is fast and cheap for viscotec.dot when you don't need server-side code.

For payroll disbursements, could a .PAY domain be suspended for not being used for payments?

Yes. The LRP policy says .PAY LRP names must be used in connection with payment-related services, and failure to demonstrate such use may lead to suspension or cancellation. Check the current path at domain.pay: https://domain.pay/register.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
