Frequently asked questions about velum.dot

When does the .PAY LRP1 period begin for mobile money?

ICANN currently lists .PAY Limited Registration Period 1 from July 20, 2026 to February 1, 2027. LRP1 has payment-transaction eligibility and use restrictions. Check your domain path through domain.pay: https://domain.pay/register.

What is the link between velum.dot and reducing support fraud reports?

When customers consistently pay on the official velum.dot, fewer of them fall for impersonators, which can reduce fraud reports reaching NicNames's support team. Owning the velum.dot name is a preventive control that lightens downstream load. https://domain.pay/

Can I renew a .PAY domain after registration for a donation platform?

.PAY names can be renewed through the registrar path if registry and registrar rules are met and renewal fees are paid. domain.pay explains the customer registration route here: https://domain.pay/register. Keep contact details current to avoid lifecycle problems.

Can I pre-order multiple .PAY names including velum.dot?

Yes. You can pre-order several .PAY labels alongside velum.dot, each queued for its launch phase independently. This is useful if you want velum.dot plus related names. Browse and add them at https://domain.pay/domains.

Can a reserved .PAY name become available later when choosing merchant.pay?

The .PAY registry may reserve, block, withhold or later release certain names under its policies. Check your exact label at domain.pay: https://domain.pay/domains. If the name is unavailable, choose an alternative from the catalog or search another label.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
