Frequently asked questions about taxicabs.dot

Do I need a financial license to register a .PAY domain during LRP1 for digital wallets?

The .PAY LRP policy does not make owning a domain a financial license. LRP1 eligibility is tied to conducting online payment transactions through an approved Payment Service Provider or third-party payment processor and payment-related use. Use domain.pay for the domain path: https://domain.pay/register; ask counsel about licensing.

Why does taxicabs.dot matter when choosing a name beyond taxicabs.dot?

taxicabs.dot matters because it carries the core meaning customers latch onto, so alternatives to taxicabs.dot should still express it clearly. domain.pay anchors its related-names suggestions on taxicabs.dot for exactly this reason. Explore taxicabs.dot-based options at https://domain.pay/domains.

What is the quickest path to secure a .PAY domain for an event ticketing business for fraud prevention?

Start at domain.pay, search the label, then choose the right path: trademark fast-track if you qualify, or pre-order for a first-day attempt when broader access opens. Use this page: https://domain.pay/register. Registration is subject to registry rules and availability.

Can eligibility for taxicabs.dot change over time?

Yes, the .PAY registry operated by Amazon Registry Services may update its eligibility and validation expectations over time, which could affect future taxicabs.dot registrations or renewals. domain.pay tracks current policy and keeps you informed. Check the latest before registering at https://domain.pay/register.

Do I need an SMD file to register .PAY during the priority window for payroll disbursements?

An SMD file is the TMCH-issued credential used to prove a validated mark during Sunrise. For .PAY, bring your SMD or use domain.pay’s full fast-track if you need help obtaining one: https://domain.pay/register. The SMD must match the requested label.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
