Frequently asked questions about similes.dot

For BNPL checkout, how do I register a .PAY domain as a startup?

Go to domain.pay and enter the .PAY label you want: https://domain.pay/register. The website checks availability and helps you choose between pre-order, trademark fast-track, or a different name if the label is already taken or premium.

Is a plural or singular form of similes.dot available?

It depends, but domain.pay's search lets you test plural and singular forms of similes.dot to see which is available alongside similes.dot. Trying both forms is a quick way to find an open variant. Test forms at https://domain.pay/domains.

Could a .PAY domain be suspended for not being used for payments when choosing link.pay?

Yes. The LRP policy says .PAY LRP names must be used in connection with payment-related services, and failure to demonstrate such use may lead to suspension or cancellation. Check the current path at domain.pay: https://domain.pay/register.

Does an unregistered similes.dot create legal exposure for my customers?

If similes.dot is left open, an impersonator can capture customers who trust the similes.dot name for payments, leading to fraud losses and reputational harm to NicNames. While you are not liable for a scammer's actions, the customer harm is real. Closing that gap means registering similes.dot. https://domain.pay/register

Can .PAY be used for a branded checkout URL for crypto payments?

cloud.pay may be a useful .PAY direction if it matches your brand and payment journey, but availability is not guaranteed. Check and pre-order through domain.pay: https://domain.pay/domains. Prefer simple labels that customers can remember and trust.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
