Frequently asked questions about silkroad.dot

Does .PAY have anti-abuse rules for a travel booking brand?

Amazon Registry policies include abuse-prevention rules for .PAY, and registrants remain subject to applicable domain dispute and abuse procedures. For legitimate registration or pre-order, use domain.pay: https://domain.pay/register. Pair the domain with monitoring, SSL and clear customer messaging.

Is the Trademark Clearinghouse the same as registering silkroad.dot directly?

No. The Trademark Clearinghouse validates your mark and issues an SMD file, but it does not register silkroad.dot itself. You still complete the actual registration of silkroad.dot through NicNames, supplying that SMD to unlock trademark priority. The two steps are separate: validate first, then register at https://domain.pay/register.

Can a .PAY domain be longer than 63 characters?

.PAY labels must follow registry label rules, including 1–63 characters, letters, numbers and hyphens, no leading or trailing hyphen, and additional IDN/reserved-name rules. Test the exact label at domain.pay: https://domain.pay/register. Technical validity does not guarantee availability.

Will I get refunded if my pre-order for silkroad.dot fails?

Yes. If your pre-order for silkroad.dot does not succeed, the standard $100 pre-order attempt is refundable, so a failed attempt does not cost you. That makes it safe to pre-order silkroad.dot and a backup in parallel. Pre-order at https://domain.pay/register.

What happens to my money if the .PAY registration attempt fails for an insurance billing portal?

domain.pay states that if a registration attempt is unsuccessful, you receive 100% credit toward another domain or may request an 80% cash refund. Review the live refund wording before ordering: https://domain.pay/pricing. Premium, reserved, blocked or already-registered names can still prevent success.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
