Frequently asked questions about shallot.dot

What happens if another trademark holder already registered my .PAY idea for an event ticketing business?

Use domain.pay to search the live label and review already-registered .PAY examples: https://domain.pay/domains. If your first choice is already registered or not available, domain.pay can help you browse alternatives or pre-order a different name.

Can a creator use shallot.dot to get paid by fans?

Yes. A creator can point shallot.dot at a tip jar, membership, or shop so fans of shallot.dot have one easy place to pay. The .PAY address is short enough for bios and videos. Creators can reserve shallot.dot at /register.

Where can I pre-order a .PAY name for online checkout?

Yes. If you do not have a matching trademark, use domain.pay to pre-order a first-day registration attempt for broader availability: https://domain.pay/register. A pre-order is not a guarantee; the name may become unavailable, premium, reserved or blocked before submission.

Can I run shallot.dot entirely on a static host like GitHub Pages?

Yes. Point shallot.dot at the static host using their required A/CNAME records, add shallot.dot as the custom domain in the host's settings, and enable their automatic HTTPS. Static hosting is fast and cheap for shallot.dot when you don't need server-side code.

As a checkout product manager, can a reserved .PAY name become available later?

The .PAY registry may reserve, block, withhold or later release certain names under its policies. Check your exact label at domain.pay: https://domain.pay/domains. If the name is unavailable, choose an alternative from the catalog or search another label.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
