Frequently asked questions about scribes.dot

Can domain.pay help me get TMCH/SMD support before the .PAY deadline for a regional bank?

TMCH is the Trademark Clearinghouse. For .PAY priority registration, the trademark record must be validated and the registrant needs a matching SMD file. domain.pay can help start the fast-track or submission path: https://domain.pay/register. Begin early because TMCH handling takes time.

How long does TMCH validation take before I can register scribes.dot?

TMCH validation timing depends on the Clearinghouse, not on NicNames, so begin the process well before you intend to claim scribes.dot. Only after validation completes do you receive the SMD file needed for priority on scribes.dot. Plan ahead so your SMD is ready when the priority phase opens. Prepare your registration at https://domain.pay/register.

When is broader .PAY public registration expected for mobile money?

Broader .PAY access is tied to the post-LRP period around February 2027, subject to registry and registrar confirmation. If you do not have a trademark, use domain.pay to pre-order a first-day attempt: https://domain.pay/register.

Why might scribes.dot be more expensive than a similar name?

Two similar .PAY names can differ in price because the registry classifies some scribes.dot strings as premium and others as standard $100 labels. So scribes.dot may cost more purely due to Amazon Registry Services' tiering. Compare scribes.dot against alternatives at https://domain.pay/pricing.

Can Amazon Registry reserve or block some .PAY names for mobile money?

The .PAY registry may reserve, block, withhold or later release certain names under its policies. Check your exact label at domain.pay: https://domain.pay/domains. If the name is unavailable, choose an alternative from the catalog or search another label.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
