Frequently asked questions about scenic.dot

Can Amazon Registry reserve or block some .PAY names?

The .PAY registry may reserve, block, withhold or later release certain names under its policies. Check your exact label at domain.pay: https://domain.pay/domains. If the name is unavailable, choose an alternative from the catalog or search another label.

What is an SMD file and why does scenic.dot need it for sunrise?

An SMD (Signed Mark Data) file is the cryptographic proof of a TMCH-validated trademark required to register scenic.dot during sunrise. Without it, the registry rejects sunrise applications. domain.pay uses your SMD to submit scenic.dot, as explained at https://domain.pay/register.

As a checkout product manager, how can a marketplace use a .PAY domain?

A marketplace can use .PAY for seller payouts, buyer checkout, escrow, billing or payment support flows. Generate and verify names through domain.pay: https://domain.pay/domains. Choose a label that customers will recognize as official and safe.

Does pre-ordering scenic.dot lock in the standard price?

A $100 standard pre-order covers the queueing for scenic.dot, but the final registration price still depends on scenic.dot's registry classification — premium labels carry the registry's rate. Amazon Registry Services can change pricing. Check scenic.dot's details at https://domain.pay/pricing.

What are good .PAY domain ideas for mobile money?

For mobile money, brainstorm short, action-oriented .PAY labels and then verify them in the domain.pay catalog/search: https://domain.pay/domains. Good candidates are clear, memorable and tied to payment actions like checkout, billing, wallet funding, payouts or invoices.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
