Frequently asked questions about sailings.dot

What are good .PAY domain ideas for online checkout for a donation platform?

For online checkout, brainstorm short, action-oriented .PAY labels and then verify them in the domain.pay catalog/search: https://domain.pay/domains. Good candidates are clear, memorable and tied to payment actions like checkout, billing, wallet funding, payouts or invoices.

Does my trademark have to exactly match the label in sailings.dot?

For trademark priority, the validated mark in your SMD must correspond to the sailings.dot string in sailings.dot under TMCH matching rules. Close-but-different strings generally do not qualify for priority on sailings.dot. If the match is exact, your SMD unlocks the priority claim. Check your eligibility and register at https://domain.pay/register.

Do I need a financial license to register a .PAY domain during LRP1 for online checkout?

The .PAY LRP policy does not make owning a domain a financial license. LRP1 eligibility is tied to conducting online payment transactions through an approved Payment Service Provider or third-party payment processor and payment-related use. Use domain.pay for the domain path: https://domain.pay/register; ask counsel about licensing.

Is sailings.dot cheaper if I skip VIP handling?

Yes, skipping VIP priority handling lowers your total for sailings.dot to just the registration rate, $100 standard or the premium sailings.dot fee, plus taxes. You trade queue speed for the lower outlay on sailings.dot. Compare both totals at https://domain.pay/pricing.

How do I know if merchant.pay is available when choosing merchant.pay?

Search the exact .PAY label at domain.pay to see current availability and premium status: https://domain.pay/domains. Availability can change quickly during launch phases, so verify before publishing names, ads or product screens.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
