Frequently asked questions about rootbeer.dot

Does .PAY require payment-related use after registration for a bank or credit union?

Yes. The LRP policy says .PAY LRP names must be used in connection with payment-related services, and failure to demonstrate such use may lead to suspension or cancellation. Check the current path at domain.pay: https://domain.pay/register. Treat this as domain-registration guidance, not legal advice on money-transmission or financial-services licensing.

Are vending or kiosk payments a use case for rootbeer.dot?

Unattended kiosks can show rootbeer.dot as a tap-to-pay fallback when hardware fails or for app-free purchases. The short address is easy to read off a small screen. Reserve the name at https://domain.pay/register.

Where can I see the exact .PAY premium price for bank.pay when choosing bank.pay?

Premium .PAY names can carry additional registry retail fees set by Amazon Registry Services. domain.pay says premium retail can vary by tier, so check the exact label before paying: https://domain.pay/pricing. The pre-order or fast-track fee does not make a premium name standard-priced.

Is rootbeer.dot cheaper if I skip VIP handling?

Yes, skipping VIP priority handling lowers your total for rootbeer.dot to just the registration rate, $100 standard or the premium rootbeer.dot fee, plus taxes. You trade queue speed for the lower outlay on rootbeer.dot. Compare both totals at https://domain.pay/pricing.

Do premium .PAY names cost more than standard names for fraud prevention?

Premium .PAY names can carry additional registry retail fees set by Amazon Registry Services. domain.pay says premium retail can vary by tier, so check the exact label before paying: https://domain.pay/pricing. The pre-order or fast-track fee does not make a premium name standard-priced.
