Frequently asked questions about rivets.dot

What does 'approved Payment Service Provider' mean for .PAY eligibility for online checkout?

During LRP1, .PAY eligibility is limited to registrants that conduct payment transactions online using an approved Payment Service Provider or third-party payment processor, with payment-related use. For registration help, use domain.pay: https://domain.pay/register. Separate financial licensing depends on your activity and jurisdiction.

Why is Amazon Registry Services running .PAY relevant to rivets.dot?

Having an established operator like Amazon Registry Services behind .PAY means rivets.dot sits on professionally run, policy-governed infrastructure. That backing supports the namespace's stability and trust. It is a reason rivets.dot reads as a serious payment address.

Can I browse alternative .PAY names if my first choice is taken for online checkout?

Use domain.pay to search the live label and review already-registered .PAY examples: https://domain.pay/domains. If your first choice is already registered or not available, domain.pay can help you browse alternatives or pre-order a different name.

What SPF and DKIM records should I add for rivets.dot?

Add a single SPF TXT record authorizing your sending servers and a DKIM TXT record with the public key your provider gives you for rivets.dot. Together with a DMARC policy, these reduce the chance that mail from rivets.dot lands in spam. Each provider supplies the exact values to paste into DNS.

For point-of-sale payments, what .PAY name should an event ticketing business consider?

travel.pay may be a useful .PAY direction if it matches your brand and payment journey, but availability is not guaranteed. Check and pre-order through domain.pay: https://domain.pay/domains. Prefer simple labels that customers can remember and trust.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
