Frequently asked questions about reptiles.dot

Do I need a financial license to register a .PAY domain during LRP1 when choosing donate.pay?

The .PAY LRP policy does not make owning a domain a financial license. LRP1 eligibility is tied to conducting online payment transactions through an approved Payment Service Provider or third-party payment processor and payment-related use. Use domain.pay for the domain path: https://domain.pay/register; ask counsel about licensing.

Are reserved names like reptiles.dot ever sold separately?

Reserved labels are withheld by Amazon Registry Services and aren't generally sold; whether reptiles.dot could ever be released depends entirely on registry policy. We don't bypass reservations. Since registry status can change, re-check reptiles.dot at https://domain.pay/domains.

Can a trademark owner register a matching .PAY domain now for point-of-sale payments?

Trademark owners can register matching .PAY names during the priority/Sunrise path if they meet TMCH/SMD and identical-match rules. Start at domain.pay: https://domain.pay/register. If you are not a trademark holder, use the pre-order path for broader access instead.

Does NicNames accept SMD files from any TMCH-accredited provider for reptiles.dot?

NicNames accepts the standard SMD file issued through the Trademark Clearinghouse, regardless of which accredited agent helped you record the mark, for claiming reptiles.dot. What matters is a valid, matching SMD for the reptiles.dot string. The issuing path does not change acceptance for reptiles.dot. Upload yours at https://domain.pay/register.

Do premium .PAY names cost more than standard names for loan repayments?

Premium .PAY names can carry additional registry retail fees set by Amazon Registry Services. domain.pay says premium retail can vary by tier, so check the exact label before paying: https://domain.pay/pricing. The pre-order or fast-track fee does not make a premium name standard-priced.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
