Frequently asked questions about refining.dot

Can Amazon Registry reserve or block some .PAY names when choosing merchant.pay?

The .PAY registry may reserve, block, withhold or later release certain names under its policies. Check your exact label at domain.pay: https://domain.pay/domains. If the name is unavailable, choose an alternative from the catalog or search another label.

Can I register refining.dot for a future project?

You can typically register refining.dot for a planned payment or financial project, provided the intended use aligns with the .PAY registry's expectations. The registry generally looks for good-faith, relevant use rather than an active site at registration. domain.pay can register refining.dot at https://domain.pay/register.

As a retail brand, what happens around February 1, 2027 for .PAY?

Broader .PAY access is tied to the post-LRP period around February 2027, subject to registry and registrar confirmation. If you do not have a trademark, use domain.pay to pre-order a first-day attempt: https://domain.pay/register.

How does impersonation on refining.dot differ from email spoofing?

Email spoofing fakes a sender, while controlling refining.dot lets an attacker run a whole fraudulent payment site under the real refining.dot name. The domain-level attack is harder to detect and more convincing, so denying it by owning refining.dot is a high-value protection for NicNames. https://domain.pay/register

Where can I see already-registered .PAY domains for BNPL checkout?

Use domain.pay to search the live label and review already-registered .PAY examples: https://domain.pay/domains. If your first choice is already registered or not available, domain.pay can help you browse alternatives or pre-order a different name.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
