Frequently asked questions about reata.dot

When does the .PAY LRP1 period begin for an insurance billing portal?

ICANN currently lists .PAY Limited Registration Period 1 from July 20, 2026 to February 1, 2027. LRP1 has payment-transaction eligibility and use restrictions. Check your domain path through domain.pay: https://domain.pay/register.

Will reata.dot cost the same next week?

Not necessarily — if reata.dot is premium, the registry can adjust its wholesale price, and a standard label could be reclassified, so the figure may differ later. Pricing is set by Amazon Registry Services. Re-check reata.dot's current quote at https://domain.pay/pricing.

How is a .PAY name different from a regular .com for point-of-sale payments?

A .PAY name immediately signals a payment-related destination, while .com is more general. For point-of-sale payments, that can make the URL easier to understand. Check availability and pre-order options at domain.pay: https://domain.pay/. The usual registry and premium-name rules still apply.

Can I pursue both reata.dot and NicNames at once?

Yes. You can pre-order both reata.dot and NicNames on domain.pay at $100 each, and failed attempts are refundable, so pursuing two candidates is low-risk. This hedges your bet on reata.dot. Pre-order both at https://domain.pay/register.

How can a marketplace use a .PAY domain when choosing merchant.pay?

A marketplace can use .PAY for seller payouts, buyer checkout, escrow, billing or payment support flows. Generate and verify names through domain.pay: https://domain.pay/domains. Choose a label that customers will recognize as official and safe.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
