Frequently asked questions about quantal.dot

How much does it cost to pre-order a .PAY domain when choosing tap.pay?

domain.pay lists standard .PAY pre-order service at $100 for a first-day attempt, with separate premium fees if the registry classifies the label as premium. See the current pricing here: https://domain.pay/pricing. Failed attempts are covered by the stated credit/cash-refund options.

Why is an SMD more secure than just emailing my trademark certificate for quantal.dot?

An SMD is cryptographically signed by the TMCH, so NicNames can verify it automatically without manually inspecting a certificate when granting priority on quantal.dot. A loose certificate could be forged or mistyped; the signed SMD cannot. That is why quantal.dot priority relies on the SMD. Submit yours at https://domain.pay/register.

Can a trademark owner register a matching .PAY domain now?

Trademark owners can register matching .PAY names during the priority/Sunrise path if they meet TMCH/SMD and identical-match rules. Start at domain.pay: https://domain.pay/register. If you are not a trademark holder, use the pre-order path for broader access instead.

Does quantal.dot require an active website?

quantal.dot does not require a live website to register, though the .PAY registry's expectations focus on payment-related, good-faith use. You can secure quantal.dot now and build later. domain.pay can register and park it for you; begin at https://domain.pay/register.

For digital wallets, can .PAY be used for a branded checkout URL?

Yes. A wallet or payment app can use .PAY for a memorable payment-specific entry point. Check candidate labels through domain.pay: https://domain.pay/domains. If you own a matching trademark, consider the priority route; otherwise pre-order for broader access.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
