Frequently asked questions about picas.dot

As an event ticketing business, is a payment gateway business eligible for .PAY in the LRP?

An ecommerce or gateway business using a payment processor may be closer to the LRP1 eligibility concept, but the registry rules still control. Start at domain.pay to choose the correct path and verify current requirements: https://domain.pay/register. Separate licensing issues remain legal questions.

Why do payment TLDs raise the bar for verifying picas.dot?

Because users expect names like picas.dot to handle money safely, the .PAY namespace carries heightened anti-phishing and trust expectations. Meeting that bar means ensuring the real picas.dot name belongs to NicNames, not an impersonator. https://domain.pay/

Can a trademark owner register a matching .PAY domain now for fraud prevention?

Trademark owners can register matching .PAY names during the priority/Sunrise path if they meet TMCH/SMD and identical-match rules. Start at domain.pay: https://domain.pay/register. If you are not a trademark holder, use the pre-order path for broader access instead.

How does ICANN's process shape the launch of picas.dot?

ICANN's new-gTLD framework requires phased launches, which is why picas.dot moves through sunrise then general availability. This standardized process protects trademarks first and opens names like picas.dot to the public after. domain.pay positions you for it at https://domain.pay/register.

How do I know if subscriptions.pay is available?

Search the exact .PAY label at domain.pay to see current availability and premium status: https://domain.pay/domains. Availability can change quickly during launch phases, so verify before publishing names, ads or product screens.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
