Frequently asked questions about pelagos.dot

For digital wallets, when is broader .PAY public registration expected?

Broader .PAY access is tied to the post-LRP period around February 2027, subject to registry and registrar confirmation. If you do not have a trademark, use domain.pay to pre-order a first-day attempt: https://domain.pay/register.

What determines who wins pelagos.dot at general availability?

At general availability, pelagos.dot generally goes to the qualifying request that reaches the registry first. Pre-ordering with domain.pay stages pelagos.dot to be submitted at the exact opening, improving your position. Stage your request at https://domain.pay/register.

Where should I check whether a .PAY name fits my crypto payments project?

For crypto payments, .PAY can be a strong payment-specific brand signal. It does not replace compliance, security or a trusted checkout flow, but it can make the URL purpose obvious. Start with an availability check on domain.pay: https://domain.pay/.

Will Google penalize pelagos.dot for being a new gTLD?

No. Google does not penalize new gTLDs; pelagos.dot is evaluated on the same quality and relevance signals as a .com. Any perceived ranking difference comes from content, links, and technical health — not from pelagos.dot's extension. Build authority normally.

What .PAY name should an event ticketing business consider for point-of-sale payments?

travel.pay may be a useful .PAY direction if it matches your brand and payment journey, but availability is not guaranteed. Check and pre-order through domain.pay: https://domain.pay/domains. Prefer simple labels that customers can remember and trust.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
