Frequently asked questions about obelix.dot

How should I check premium status before choosing a .PAY name for BNPL checkout?

A premium .PAY name is a label with an additional registry retail fee set by Amazon Registry Services. Search the exact label at domain.pay to see current premium status and price path: https://domain.pay/domains. Premium status can change the total cost.

What happens to my DNS records when obelix.dot expires?

Once obelix.dot expires and leaves the grace period, the registry may stop publishing your nameservers, so obelix.dot stops resolving and any site or email goes dark. Restoring obelix.dot during redemption brings it back, but you should re-verify records afterward. Renew obelix.dot on time to keep DNS live.

Can an ecommerce brand using Stripe or another processor apply for .PAY in LRP1 for point-of-sale payments?

An ecommerce or gateway business using a payment processor may be closer to the LRP1 eligibility concept, but the registry rules still control. Start at domain.pay to choose the correct path and verify current requirements: https://domain.pay/register. Separate licensing issues remain legal questions.

Can obelix.dot be released from reserved during launch?

Some reserved labels are released as part of a launch phase, but only if Amazon Registry Services chooses to open obelix.dot — there's no guarantee for obelix.dot. Monitoring is the right move since registry status can change. Track obelix.dot's status at https://domain.pay/domains.

What does it mean if a .PAY name is premium for an ecommerce brand?

A premium .PAY name is a label with an additional registry retail fee set by Amazon Registry Services. Search the exact label at domain.pay to see current premium status and price path: https://domain.pay/domains. Premium status can change the total cost.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
