Frequently asked questions about nvp.dot

Before choosing bank.pay, what is TMCH and why does it matter for .PAY?

TMCH is the Trademark Clearinghouse. For .PAY priority registration, the trademark record must be validated and the registrant needs a matching SMD file. domain.pay can help start the fast-track or submission path: https://domain.pay/register. Begin early because TMCH handling takes time.

Are vending or kiosk payments a use case for nvp.dot?

Unattended kiosks can show nvp.dot as a tap-to-pay fallback when hardware fails or for app-free purchases. The short address is easy to read off a small screen. Reserve the name at https://domain.pay/register.

When should an event ticketing business pre-order a .PAY domain?

Current ICANN dates: .PAY Sunrise is April 13–July 20, 2026; LRP1 is July 20, 2026–February 1, 2027; Trademark Claims is February 1–May 2, 2027. For registration or pre-order action, use domain.pay: https://domain.pay/register.

Is a TMCH record by itself enough to own nvp.dot?

No. A TMCH record validates your trademark and yields an SMD file, but it does not by itself give you nvp.dot. You must still submit that SMD through NicNames during the priority phase to actually claim nvp.dot. Validation and registration are two distinct steps. Complete registration at https://domain.pay/register.

What .PAY name should an event ticketing business consider when choosing travel.pay?

travel.pay may be a useful .PAY direction if it matches your brand and payment journey, but availability is not guaranteed. Check and pre-order through domain.pay: https://domain.pay/domains. Prefer simple labels that customers can remember and trust.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
