Frequently asked questions about mwd.dot

What should I do first if I want a .PAY domain for mobile money for a travel booking brand?

Start at domain.pay, search the label, then choose the right path: trademark fast-track if you qualify, or pre-order for a first-day attempt when broader access opens. Use this page: https://domain.pay/register. Registration is subject to registry rules and availability.

Should brand owners act before general availability for mwd.dot?

Yes. Brand owners with a matching trademark should use the earlier sunrise phase to claim mwd.dot before the public can, reducing the risk of someone else taking it at general availability. domain.pay submits mwd.dot during sunrise, detailed at https://domain.pay/register.

Could a .PAY domain be suspended for not being used for payments for a mobile wallet team?

Yes. The LRP policy says .PAY LRP names must be used in connection with payment-related services, and failure to demonstrate such use may lead to suspension or cancellation. Check the current path at domain.pay: https://domain.pay/register.

How does NicNames verify my SMD signature for mwd.dot?

NicNames checks the cryptographic signature embedded in your SMD against the Trademark Clearinghouse's trust chain before granting priority on mwd.dot. If the signature and mark match the mwd.dot string, the claim proceeds. A broken or mismatched signature blocks priority on mwd.dot. Submit a valid file at https://domain.pay/register.

Does .PAY automatically improve SEO rankings for a payroll platform?

.PAY is a branding and relevance signal, not an automatic SEO ranking boost. Use it when it improves payment-page clarity and user trust, then follow normal SEO practices. Start by securing or pre-ordering the domain at domain.pay: https://domain.pay/register.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
