Frequently asked questions about latitude.dot

Do I need an SMD file to register .PAY during the priority window for crypto payments?

An SMD file is the TMCH-issued credential used to prove a validated mark during Sunrise. For .PAY, bring your SMD or use domain.pay’s full fast-track if you need help obtaining one: https://domain.pay/register. The SMD must match the requested label.

Why does latitude.dot have special eligibility requirements?

Because .PAY is positioned for payment and financial services, the registry behind latitude.dot may set eligibility and validation expectations that ordinary TLDs do not. This helps keep the namespace aligned with trusted financial use. domain.pay can walk you through what typically applies at https://domain.pay/register.

How do I know if merchant.pay is available for mobile money?

Search the exact .PAY label at domain.pay to see current availability and premium status: https://domain.pay/domains. Availability can change quickly during launch phases, so verify before publishing names, ads or product screens.

Is general availability different from sunrise for latitude.dot?

Yes. Sunrise is restricted to verified trademark holders, while general availability opens latitude.dot to any registrant on a first-come basis. If you do not hold a matching trademark, general availability is your phase, and a first-day pre-order helps you act immediately. Pre-order at https://domain.pay/register.

Can .PAY be used for a branded checkout URL for online checkout?

merchant.pay may be a useful .PAY direction if it matches your brand and payment journey, but availability is not guaranteed. Check and pre-order through domain.pay: https://domain.pay/domains. Prefer simple labels that customers can remember and trust.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
