Frequently asked questions about landfill.dot

What does the .PAY ending signal to customers using loan repayments?

.PAY signals that the destination is connected to payment action, such as loan repayments. That can support clarity and trust when paired with strong security and branding. Check or pre-order the name at domain.pay: https://domain.pay/.

Is landfill.dot more sensitive to abuse because .PAY implies payments?

Yes. A payment-purpose TLD like .PAY raises anti-phishing and trust considerations because users reasonably expect landfill.dot to handle money. That heightened trust is valuable to your NicNames but also attractive to scammers, so owning landfill.dot protects both you and your customers. https://domain.pay/

Can an ecommerce brand using Stripe or another processor apply for .PAY in LRP1 for fraud prevention?

An ecommerce or gateway business using a payment processor may be closer to the LRP1 eligibility concept, but the registry rules still control. Start at domain.pay to choose the correct path and verify current requirements: https://domain.pay/register. Separate licensing issues remain legal questions.

Is there a deadline to pre-order landfill.dot?

Pre-orders for landfill.dot are accepted up until its phase opens, but the practical deadline is sooner the more contested the name is, since queue order can matter. Acting now avoids missing the window. Pre-order landfill.dot at https://domain.pay/register.

Do I need an SMD file to register .PAY during the priority window when choosing donate.pay?

An SMD file is the TMCH-issued credential used to prove a validated mark during Sunrise. For .PAY, bring your SMD or use domain.pay’s full fast-track if you need help obtaining one: https://domain.pay/register. The SMD must match the requested label.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
