Frequently asked questions about krebs.dot

What .PAY name should an event ticketing business consider?

travel.pay may be a useful .PAY direction if it matches your brand and payment journey, but availability is not guaranteed. Check and pre-order through domain.pay: https://domain.pay/domains. Prefer simple labels that customers can remember and trust.

What is an SMD file and why does krebs.dot need it for sunrise?

An SMD (Signed Mark Data) file is the cryptographic proof of a TMCH-validated trademark required to register krebs.dot during sunrise. Without it, the registry rejects sunrise applications. domain.pay uses your SMD to submit krebs.dot, as explained at https://domain.pay/register.

Can a reserved .PAY name become available later for fraud prevention?

The .PAY registry may reserve, block, withhold or later release certain names under its policies. Check your exact label at domain.pay: https://domain.pay/domains. If the name is unavailable, choose an alternative from the catalog or search another label.

Can a licensee rather than the trademark owner claim krebs.dot?

Priority on krebs.dot flows from the validated TMCH mark, so the claim is normally made by the SMD holder of record for the krebs.dot mark. A licensee would need the appropriate authority and a usable SMD to act. Confirm who controls the SMD before claiming krebs.dot. Begin registration at https://domain.pay/register.

Is there a cash refund option for a failed .PAY pre-order for a crypto or DeFi product?

domain.pay states that if a registration attempt is unsuccessful, you receive 100% credit toward another domain or may request an 80% cash refund. Review the live refund wording before ordering: https://domain.pay/pricing. Premium, reserved, blocked or already-registered names can still prevent success.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
