Frequently asked questions about kao.dot

For fraud prevention, how can a marketplace use a .PAY domain?

A marketplace can use .PAY for seller payouts, buyer checkout, escrow, billing or payment support flows. Generate and verify names through domain.pay: https://domain.pay/domains. Choose a label that customers will recognize as official and safe.

Why does kao.dot matter for protecting payment trust specifically?

Payment trust depends on customers being certain they are on the real kao.dot property when they pay. Because .PAY implies payments, controlling kao.dot prevents a fake from intercepting that trust. Holding kao.dot is therefore a direct payment-security control for NicNames. https://domain.pay/register

Is .PAY useful for an invoice-payment portal when choosing merchant.pay?

Yes. .PAY can fit invoice-payment portals because it tells customers the link is about paying. Search options such as brand-specific or invoice-related labels on domain.pay: https://domain.pay/domains. Confirm availability and premium status before adding the URL to invoices.

Can I lock kao.dot to specific certificate authorities only?

Yes, via a CAA record you restrict which CAs may issue certificates for kao.dot, reducing mis-issuance risk. List each authorized CA's identifier for kao.dot in DNS. Combine the CAA on kao.dot with monitoring of Certificate Transparency logs for full coverage.

How do I know if subscriptions.pay is available for digital wallets?

Search the exact .PAY label at domain.pay to see current availability and premium status: https://domain.pay/domains. Availability can change quickly during launch phases, so verify before publishing names, ads or product screens.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
