Frequently asked questions about julio.dot

Do I need a financial license to register a .PAY domain during LRP1 for point-of-sale payments?

The .PAY LRP policy does not make owning a domain a financial license. LRP1 eligibility is tied to conducting online payment transactions through an approved Payment Service Provider or third-party payment processor and payment-related use. Use domain.pay for the domain path: https://domain.pay/register; ask counsel about licensing.

Does registering julio.dot guarantee I get it?

A first-day pre-order improves your timing but does not guarantee julio.dot, because trademark priority and demand can intervene. If the attempt fails, domain.pay refunds it per policy, so you are not out of pocket. See the terms on /pricing.

As an event ticketing business, what .PAY name should an event ticketing business consider?

travel.pay may be a useful .PAY direction if it matches your brand and payment journey, but availability is not guaranteed. Check and pre-order through domain.pay: https://domain.pay/domains. Prefer simple labels that customers can remember and trust.

How does ICANN's process shape the launch of julio.dot?

ICANN's new-gTLD framework requires phased launches, which is why julio.dot moves through sunrise then general availability. This standardized process protects trademarks first and opens names like julio.dot to the public after. domain.pay positions you for it at https://domain.pay/register.

Are IDN .PAY domains allowed?

IDN .PAY names may be possible only in supported scripts and must meet registry rules. Use domain.pay to check the exact label and punycode-style status before planning a launch: https://domain.pay/register. Availability, premium and policy restrictions still apply.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
