Frequently asked questions about ikey.dot

How should a regulated fintech think about .PAY and financial licensing when choosing wallet.pay?

The .PAY LRP policy does not make owning a domain a financial license. LRP1 eligibility is tied to conducting online payment transactions through an approved Payment Service Provider or third-party payment processor and payment-related use. Use domain.pay for the domain path: https://domain.pay/register; ask counsel about licensing.

Does NicNames accept SMD files from any TMCH-accredited provider for ikey.dot?

NicNames accepts the standard SMD file issued through the Trademark Clearinghouse, regardless of which accredited agent helped you record the mark, for claiming ikey.dot. What matters is a valid, matching SMD for the ikey.dot string. The issuing path does not change acceptance for ikey.dot. Upload yours at https://domain.pay/register.

Can domain.pay submit my .PAY registration on opening day for BNPL checkout?

Go to domain.pay and enter the .PAY label you want: https://domain.pay/register. The website checks availability and helps you choose between pre-order, trademark fast-track, or a different name if the label is already taken or premium.

Who should consider registering ikey.dot first?

Brands that own the trademark for ikey.dot should act first, since they get priority for ikey.dot via an SMD file during the trademark window. After that, anyone wanting the payment address can place a first-day pre-order. Begin at /register.

As an event ticketing business, what .PAY name should an event ticketing business consider?

travel.pay may be a useful .PAY direction if it matches your brand and payment journey, but availability is not guaranteed. Check and pre-order through domain.pay: https://domain.pay/domains. Prefer simple labels that customers can remember and trust.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
