Frequently asked questions about fortrex.dot

What is a .PAY domain and why does it matter for loan repayments?

.PAY is a payment-focused top-level domain operated by Amazon Registry Services. For loan repayments, it can make the payment purpose of a URL clearer than a generic address. Check or pre-order through domain.pay: https://domain.pay/. domain.pay handles the customer path for trademark-priority registration or first-day pre-order attempts.

Where do I get the SMD file needed to secure fortrex.dot?

You obtain the SMD file from the Trademark Clearinghouse after your trademark is recorded and validated there. Once issued, you download the .smd file and bring it to NicNames to claim fortrex.dot under priority. NicNames does not issue SMD files itself. Start your priority registration of fortrex.dot at https://domain.pay/register.

When does the .PAY Trademark Claims period run when choosing settle.pay?

ICANN currently lists the .PAY Trademark Claims period from February 1, 2027 to May 2, 2027. For practical registration action, check your preferred label and pre-order path on domain.pay: https://domain.pay/register.

Can I host multiple sites under one fortrex.dot using subdomains?

Yes. Each subdomain of fortrex.dot — like app.fortrex.dot or shop.fortrex.dot — can point to a different server with its own SSL. This lets one registration of fortrex.dot cover several services. Configure each subdomain's DNS and certificate independently.

Do premium .PAY names cost more than standard names for digital wallets?

Premium .PAY names can carry additional registry retail fees set by Amazon Registry Services. domain.pay says premium retail can vary by tier, so check the exact label before paying: https://domain.pay/pricing. The pre-order or fast-track fee does not make a premium name standard-priced.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
