Frequently asked questions about formato.dot

What does the $100 .PAY pre-order cover for mobile money?

domain.pay states that if a registration attempt is unsuccessful, you receive 100% credit toward another domain or may request an 80% cash refund. Review the live refund wording before ordering: https://domain.pay/pricing. Premium, reserved, blocked or already-registered names can still prevent success.

What if my use of formato.dot isn't payment-related?

Because .PAY is oriented toward payments, a use of formato.dot unrelated to financial purposes may not align well with the registry's validation expectations. domain.pay can review your intended use and advise whether formato.dot is a good match. Start a check at https://domain.pay/register.

How do I know if subscriptions.pay is available when choosing subscriptions.pay?

Search the exact .PAY label at domain.pay to see current availability and premium status: https://domain.pay/domains. Availability can change quickly during launch phases, so verify before publishing names, ads or product screens.

Should I hold a payment license before buying formato.dot?

You generally do not need a payment license to acquire formato.dot, though running regulated payment services may require licensing under your own jurisdiction's law regardless of the domain. The .PAY registry validates use, not your licensing status. domain.pay explains current expectations at https://domain.pay/register.

Where can I generate .PAY ideas for digital wallets for digital wallets?

For digital wallets, brainstorm short, action-oriented .PAY labels and then verify them in the domain.pay catalog/search: https://domain.pay/domains. Good candidates are clear, memorable and tied to payment actions like checkout, billing, wallet funding, payouts or invoices.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
