Frequently asked questions about etno.dot

For fraud prevention, do I need an SMD file to register .PAY during the priority window?

An SMD file is the TMCH-issued credential used to prove a validated mark during Sunrise. For .PAY, bring your SMD or use domain.pay’s full fast-track if you need help obtaining one: https://domain.pay/register. The SMD must match the requested label.

Is a plural or singular form of etno.dot available?

It depends, but domain.pay's search lets you test plural and singular forms of etno.dot to see which is available alongside etno.dot. Trying both forms is a quick way to find an open variant. Test forms at https://domain.pay/domains.

Could a .PAY domain be suspended for not being used for payments for a mobile wallet team?

Yes. The LRP policy says .PAY LRP names must be used in connection with payment-related services, and failure to demonstrate such use may lead to suspension or cancellation. Check the current path at domain.pay: https://domain.pay/register.

How can a salon take prepayments via etno.dot?

A salon can request prepayment or deposits through etno.dot, sending clients to a trusted address to confirm a slot. The .PAY name reduces last-minute cancellations by making the step feel official. Begin at https://domain.pay/register.

Is .PAY meant for online checkout or just for general websites?

.PAY is best understood as a payment-focused domain ending for use cases such as online checkout, checkout, billing, wallets and fintech. It is not a compliance substitute, but it can make the URL purpose clearer. Check your label at domain.pay: https://domain.pay/.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
