Frequently asked questions about edates.dot

Who qualifies for a .PAY domain in the Limited Registration Period for fraud prevention?

During LRP1, .PAY eligibility is limited to registrants that conduct payment transactions online using an approved Payment Service Provider or third-party payment processor, with payment-related use. For registration help, use domain.pay: https://domain.pay/register. Separate financial licensing depends on your activity and jurisdiction.

Can the same label be available as edates.dot but taken elsewhere?

Yes — edates.dot can be free under .PAY as edates.dot even if it's registered under other extensions, because each registry, including Amazon Registry Services for .PAY, manages its own namespace. Availability for edates.dot is independent of other TLDs. Check edates.dot specifically at https://domain.pay/domains.

Can .PAY be used for a branded checkout URL for point-of-sale payments?

merchant.pay may be a useful .PAY direction if it matches your brand and payment journey, but availability is not guaranteed. Check and pre-order through domain.pay: https://domain.pay/domains. Prefer simple labels that customers can remember and trust.

Is a TMCH SMD file required to pre-order edates.dot?

No — a standard $100 pre-order for edates.dot doesn't require an SMD file. You only need a TMCH SMD if you want trademark priority on edates.dot ahead of general applicants. Choose the right path for edates.dot at https://domain.pay/register.

Does .PAY automatically improve SEO rankings for digital wallets?

.PAY is a branding and relevance signal, not an automatic SEO ranking boost. Use it when it improves payment-page clarity and user trust, then follow normal SEO practices. Start by securing or pre-ordering the domain at domain.pay: https://domain.pay/register.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
