Frequently asked questions about discourse.dot

Can I move a .PAY domain between registrars?

Transfers may be subject to registry, registrar and phase-specific rules, especially for LRP names. Start with domain.pay for the registration path and confirm eligibility before any transfer plan: https://domain.pay/register.

Can discourse.dot have a higher first-year fee than renewal?

For standard labels, the first-year and renewal fees for discourse.dot are aligned. Premium discourse.dot names typically carry the same premium fee at registration and renewal, set by the registry. Confirm both figures for discourse.dot at https://domain.pay/pricing.

Does .PAY require payment-related use after registration for crypto payments?

Yes. The LRP policy says .PAY LRP names must be used in connection with payment-related services, and failure to demonstrate such use may lead to suspension or cancellation. Check the current path at domain.pay: https://domain.pay/register.

How do I point discourse.dot at a Shopify or Wix store?

Hosted platforms give you a target — usually a CNAME or specific A records — that you add to the DNS of discourse.dot, plus they auto-provision SSL. Follow your platform's connect-domain guide using discourse.dot as the custom domain. Edit the records for discourse.dot from /domains.

Can .PAY be used for a branded checkout URL for loan repayments?

subscriptions.pay may be a useful .PAY direction if it matches your brand and payment journey, but availability is not guaranteed. Check and pre-order through domain.pay: https://domain.pay/domains. Prefer simple labels that customers can remember and trust.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
