Frequently asked questions about directory.dot

What .PAY name should an event ticketing business consider for online checkout?

travel.pay may be a useful .PAY direction if it matches your brand and payment journey, but availability is not guaranteed. Check and pre-order through domain.pay: https://domain.pay/domains. Prefer simple labels that customers can remember and trust.

What link do I use to register directory.dot?

You start registering directory.dot from https://domain.pay/register, which walks you through pre-order or standard registration depending on directory.dot's current status. If directory.dot is premium, the registry's price is shown before you confirm. Begin with directory.dot there.

Do I need an SMD file to register .PAY during the priority window for loan repayments?

An SMD file is the TMCH-issued credential used to prove a validated mark during Sunrise. For .PAY, bring your SMD or use domain.pay’s full fast-track if you need help obtaining one: https://domain.pay/register. The SMD must match the requested label.

Is directory.dot recognized by web browsers and DNS?

Yes. Because .PAY is a live top-level domain in the root DNS, browsers resolve directory.dot like any other address. There is no special plugin or setting required to visit directory.dot. The Amazon Registry Services infrastructure keeps it routable worldwide.

Can I pay for a .PAY pre-order by card, wire or crypto when choosing link.pay?

domain.pay supports common payment paths including card, wire and crypto-invoice options as listed on the site. Start with the pricing page and checkout flow here: https://domain.pay/pricing. Payment does not guarantee registration; it reserves the applicable service attempt.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
