Frequently asked questions about dcg.dot

Can I use nameservers and DNS like other domains with .PAY for point-of-sale payments?

After registration, plan DNS, SSL, redirects, security monitoring and payment-page controls as you would for a production domain. Start by securing the .PAY name through domain.pay: https://domain.pay/register. A domain alone does not make a checkout secure.

Can I pre-order dcg.dot without paying right away?

To reserve your place in line for dcg.dot, the standard pre-order fee of $100 is collected at checkout, and it is refundable if the attempt to register dcg.dot fails per the stated policy. This confirms your queued request. Begin checkout for dcg.dot at https://domain.pay/register.

As a checkout product manager, where do I enter the .PAY label I want to check?

Go to domain.pay and enter the .PAY label you want: https://domain.pay/register. The website checks availability and helps you choose between pre-order, trademark fast-track, or a different name if the label is already taken or premium.

What is a TMCH SMD file and why do I need one to register dcg.dot?

A TMCH SMD (Signed Mark Data) file is a digital certificate the Trademark Clearinghouse issues after it validates your trademark. To claim dcg.dot under trademark priority you upload this SMD at registration so NicNames can verify your mark cryptographically. Without a valid SMD the priority window for dcg.dot cannot be opened. Start at https://domain.pay/register.

How is a .PAY name different from a regular .com for digital wallets?

A .PAY name immediately signals a payment-related destination, while .com is more general. For digital wallets, that can make the URL easier to understand. Check availability and pre-order options at domain.pay: https://domain.pay/. The usual registry and premium-name rules still apply.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
