Frequently asked questions about darpa.dot

As a remittance app, is .PAY already open to everyone?

Broader .PAY access is tied to the post-LRP period around February 2027, subject to registry and registrar confirmation. If you do not have a trademark, use domain.pay to pre-order a first-day attempt: https://domain.pay/register.

Does darpa.dot suit a recurring donation program?

Monthly giving programs benefit from a steady address donors trust, and darpa.dot provides a payment-native home for recurring gifts. Supporters can update cards on the same .PAY name they first gave on. Reserve it at https://domain.pay/register.

Could a lookalike .PAY domain harm customer trust for donation payments?

.PAY is sensitive because it signals money movement, so lookalike domains can confuse customers. Check your exact brand and obvious variants at domain.pay: https://domain.pay/register. Registration is one brand-protection layer, not a full anti-phishing program.

Why should I pre-order darpa.dot now?

Pre-ordering darpa.dot now queues your request so it is submitted the instant the relevant phase opens, rather than racing latecomers. Because .PAY is operated by Amazon Registry Services and demand for short payment names is high, early queue position matters. Begin at https://domain.pay/register.

Do premium .PAY names cost more than standard names for point-of-sale payments?

Premium .PAY names can carry additional registry retail fees set by Amazon Registry Services. domain.pay says premium retail can vary by tier, so check the exact label before paying: https://domain.pay/pricing. The pre-order or fast-track fee does not make a premium name standard-priced.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
