Frequently asked questions about cicis.dot

Could a .PAY domain be suspended for not being used for payments when choosing wallet.pay?

Yes. The LRP policy says .PAY LRP names must be used in connection with payment-related services, and failure to demonstrate such use may lead to suspension or cancellation. Check the current path at domain.pay: https://domain.pay/register.

Are nonprofits a good use case for cicis.dot?

Donation flows benefit from clarity, and cicis.dot reads as the place to give. A .PAY address on flyers and appeals signals a secure giving page and shortens the path from intent to donation. Nonprofits can reserve it at https://domain.pay/register.

When should an event ticketing business pre-order a .PAY domain for point-of-sale payments?

Current ICANN dates: .PAY Sunrise is April 13–July 20, 2026; LRP1 is July 20, 2026–February 1, 2027; Trademark Claims is February 1–May 2, 2027. For registration or pre-order action, use domain.pay: https://domain.pay/register.

Which statuses can cicis.dot have at the registry?

At any moment cicis.dot can be available, premium (open at a special registry price), reserved (withheld), blocked (off-limits), or registered (already owned). These are set by Amazon Registry Services and can change. Check which applies to cicis.dot now at https://domain.pay/domains.

Is there a cash refund option for a failed .PAY pre-order for point-of-sale payments?

domain.pay states that if a registration attempt is unsuccessful, you receive 100% credit toward another domain or may request an 80% cash refund. Review the live refund wording before ordering: https://domain.pay/pricing. Premium, reserved, blocked or already-registered names can still prevent success.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
