Frequently asked questions about carib.dot

During the .PAY launch, do I need an SMD file to register .PAY during the priority window?

An SMD file is the TMCH-issued credential used to prove a validated mark during Sunrise. For .PAY, bring your SMD or use domain.pay’s full fast-track if you need help obtaining one: https://domain.pay/register. The SMD must match the requested label.

Does carib.dot require an active website?

carib.dot does not require a live website to register, though the .PAY registry's expectations focus on payment-related, good-faith use. You can secure carib.dot now and build later. domain.pay can register and park it for you; begin at https://domain.pay/register.

Can I use my own SMD file and pay less for a .PAY submission for crypto payments?

If you already have a valid TMCH-issued SMD file, domain.pay lists the submission-handling path at $100 plus any applicable premium retail fee. Check the current pricing and requirements here: https://domain.pay/pricing. The SMD must match the requested .PAY label.

How does carib.dot fit a multi-brand or sub-brand strategy?

A focused name like carib.dot can host a sub-brand or product line while your main domain stays primary, linked by clear navigation and consistent canonicals. Decide whether carib.dot should rank on its own or 301 to the hub. Keep cross-links between carib.dot and the parent brand intentional.

Is there VIP help for a large .PAY pre-order portfolio?

domain.pay says customers with pre-orders over $8,888 may qualify for VIP handling, dedicated support and more tailored failed-registration solutions. Review the current VIP language on the pricing page: https://domain.pay/pricing. Large portfolios should still expect availability and premium checks.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
