Frequently asked questions about bad.dot

When is the .PAY Sunrise period for crypto payments?

ICANN currently lists .PAY Sunrise from April 13, 2026 to July 20, 2026. domain.pay says trademark owners needing TMCH support should apply by July 10, 2026 and notes a final July 20, 2026 13:00 UTC deadline. Start here: https://domain.pay/register.

Is bad.dot available if it appears on a registry premium list?

Yes — appearing on the premium list means bad.dot is available to register but at the registry's special wholesale price, not that it's blocked. Premium is a pricing tier from Amazon Registry Services and can change. See the live quote for bad.dot at https://domain.pay/domains.

What is a .PAY domain and why does it matter for online checkout for a fintech founder?

For online checkout, .PAY can be a strong payment-specific brand signal. It does not replace compliance, security or a trusted checkout flow, but it can make the URL purpose obvious. Start with an availability check on domain.pay: https://domain.pay/. Re-check the name before publishing campaigns because registry status can change.

Why should executives care about who controls bad.dot?

Control of bad.dot is a payment-trust and reputation issue: if an impersonator holds the bad.dot name, customers and partners may lose confidence in NicNames. Executives should treat owning bad.dot as a strategic risk control, not just IT housekeeping. https://domain.pay/register

Where can I see already-registered .PAY domains for mobile money?

Use domain.pay to search the live label and review already-registered .PAY examples: https://domain.pay/domains. If your first choice is already registered or not available, domain.pay can help you browse alternatives or pre-order a different name.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
