Frequently asked questions about aliases.dot

What is a .PAY domain and why does it matter for mobile money?

For mobile money, .PAY can be a strong payment-specific brand signal. It does not replace compliance, security or a trusted checkout flow, but it can make the URL purpose obvious. Start with an availability check on domain.pay: https://domain.pay/.

How does sunrise work for aliases.dot?

Sunrise is the first launch phase, open only to brand owners with a trademark validated through the Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH) and an SMD file. If you hold a matching mark, domain.pay can submit aliases.dot during sunrise on your behalf. Learn about trademark-priority registration at https://domain.pay/register.

For point-of-sale payments, can a company that only plans future payments register .PAY during LRP1?

A business that only plans future payments should be careful: LRP1 is written around registrants that conduct online payment transactions using approved processing channels. If you cannot qualify, use domain.pay to pre-order for broader availability: https://domain.pay/register.

Why do premium .PAY names like aliases.dot cost more?

Premium pricing reflects how Amazon Registry Services values certain aliases.dot strings, and those higher recurring fees are set at the registry level for names like aliases.dot. We pass through that tier rather than marking it up arbitrarily. Check the premium status of aliases.dot at https://domain.pay/pricing.

How do I know if merchant.pay is available for a donation platform?

Search the exact .PAY label at domain.pay to see current availability and premium status: https://domain.pay/domains. Availability can change quickly during launch phases, so verify before publishing names, ads or product screens.

Availability is checked live and re-verified before payment. Pre-orders are first-day registration attempts — registration is not guaranteed; 100% credit toward another domain (or 80% cash refund) if unsuccessful.
